First Tuesday

The First Tuesday Concert Series, which debuted in 2022, begins its 20th season and features regional professional artists on the first Tuesday of every month. Each event is free and open to the public with no ticket required. Events are held in Howard Auditorium on the Tifton Campus.

Back by popular demand to the First Tuesday Concert Series is ABAC’s own former Jazz Ensemble Director, Dr. Thomas Heflin, trumpeter.  Thomas, who has been hailed as “a fluent trumpeter with a bright tone and a forward-looking style” by Jazz writer, Scott Yanow will thrill an audience with his Quintet of Jazz on this night.

A Night of Choral Singing featuring Frederick Shorter and the Blakely Mass Choir

A Night of Chamber Music featuring Quartet Giocoso

Quartet Giocoso is based out of Valdosta, Georgia, comprised of faculty at Valdosta State University and principal players of the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra. This program will feature an array of music from award winning American female composer Caroline Shaw, a classic string quartet staple of Beethoven’s infamous second “Razumovsky” quartet, and selections from the Danish String Quartet’s “Last Leaf” album.  You will not want to miss these four extraordinary musicians.
