The First Tuesday Concert Series debuted at ABAC in 2002. Nearly twenty years later, this special collection of performances continues to feature regional artists on the first Tuesday of every month. It’s a celebration! In the first First Tuesday concert since March 2020, members of the ABAC family will present a Welcome Back to Music concert. The ABAC music faculty will perform beautiful piano, instrumental, and vocal solos. These pieces will be followed by a collection of jazz and blues tunes by The Waybacks, a dynamic group made up of ABAC alumni and students.

With the energy of a concerto and the intimacy of a solo, the Piano Quartet in E flat major is a perfect showcase of Mozart’s mastery of classical form. The Oconee Chamber Players will perform this quartet along with Mendelssohn’s c minor Trio, the last chamber music he lived to see published. The piece highlights the composer’s rich harmonic language and emotional intensity.
